Don't Look Twice
Nancy's in Chicago to cheer the Emerson College basketball team and Ned, her longtime boyfriend. But she can't believe her eyes. Has Ned saved his slickest moves for after the game? Is he really making a pass at a cheerleader named Denise Mason? I won't tell ya.
But the mystery takes an even more serious twist when Denise is kidnapped and Nancy is afraid if she solves the case she will bring them back together and lose Ned altogether. Does she? You'll just have to read the book to find out.

Thrilling
Carolyn Keene shows her talent with the writing of this book. Nancy surprises Ned with a visit to his basketball tournament, but Nancy was the one to be surprised when she found Ned kissing a redhead cheerleader! The cheerleader later disappears, and Nancy is worries if she finds her, and solves the case, she'll be the one to bring the two together! Great reading material.

EXCITING!
This book was really thrilling!I couldn`t put it down, this book has a mixture of action and romance.Nancy goes to Ned`s basketball game and sees him in the arms of a redhead cheerleader. When the cheerleader goes missing it`s up to Nancy to find her.Trouble is,she`s afraid she`ll bring them back together!

The Original Edition Is Better
This review concerns the original 1941 edition and the revised 1971 edition, the one commonly found in book stores. In the original edition, Mr. Drew has Nancy help him track down a missing heiress and Nancy, Bess and George stumble upon a mysterious moss-covered mansion. They later hear that someone was murdered near the mansion and they repeatedly hear strange noises coming from inside the mansion. I really enjoyed the first 100 or so pages of this book, but I found that after that I was gradually losing interest in the story. Any of the chapter endings toward the end of the book that had even the smallest bit of interest were quickly resolved in the next chapter. The end of the book was rather bad as the two best things about the book, the murder and the mansion, were resolved with dull explanations. Most of this book is worth reading and I rate it 3 stars. In the revised edition, Nancy, George, Bess, Mr. Drew and Hannah travel to Florida when a friend of Mr. Drew is accused of trying to sabotage the space program by sending a truck of explosive oranges to the Space Center complex at Cape Kennedy. When you finally stop laughing over how lame this plot sounds and actually read the book, it; unfortunately, isn't any better. There is not much action in the book, the mystery isn't very exciting and the writing style is vastly inferior to the original edition. I didn't enjoy the revised edition of this book at all and I'd give it a 1 1/2 star rating.

Best Nancy Drew Book Ever
Nancy Drew: The Case of the Moss-Covered Mansion was one of the best Nancy Drew books I have ever read. It had more action than some other Nancy Drew books. Nancy Drew was working three different cases at the same time. She saw tigers two feet away and dangerous things happen to her and her friends, Bess and George. In the last four or so chapters, I couldn't put down the book. I like the way that the author describes the scenes where Nancy and her friends are at. It was one of the best, most intense, Nancy Drew endings ever.

Im not saying it's a bad book but....
Ok, i have to admit that this book wasn't as good as people told me it was. i'm not saying anybody shouldn't read it but well once you start the book it's REALLY boring.this wasn't the most suspenceful books either. it only got good at the end. i would have to say don't buy this book, rent it first from a library and see if you like it.

Wow! I liked this one!
This time Nancy is asked to solve a case to help Captain Easterly uncover the mysterious ghostly prowlers that has been having.

Nancy, Bess and George set out on the ship and take residence on it as they try to solve the mystery. They try to help Captain Easterly find the old, wooden lady that used to go in the front of his boat. The girls try to find information about the wooden lady, but nothing is under the Bonny Scot's name. Going deeper they find out that there is a treausre on-board and the prowlers want it! Hopefully they will find it before the visitors do!

This by far is my favorite book! I really liked this one. It was exciting in a lot of parts and I like stories about pirate treasure! Carolyn Keene did a good job on this one. Bravo!

A WONDERFUL book with a cliff-hanger at every chapter.
As Nancy's father is asked to meet an old friend in Boston, she is told the reason why. Captin Easterly says there has been ghost on his ship. When Captin Easterly was going to buy the ship, the owner finds out that the ship never belonged to his uncle, where he got the boat from. Without proof to who the ship belongs to he is not willing to sell the ship. As Nancy, Bess, and George sleuth they find the original name of th eboat, where the figurehead dissapeared to, and the secret in the boat. Carolyn Keene discribes everything so detailed you feel like your Nancy yourself!

Joe's keys
I think the best part was when Iola's keys were stolen, and how Joe reacted. It was great because he'll never forget her, no matter how many girlfriends he has. I loved this one.

Wicked Ways (Keene, Carolyn. Nancy Drew Files, 113.)
Published in Paperback by Simon Pulse (February, 1996)

What happened to the real Nancy Drew?
The detective in this book is not Nancy Drew. Oh, the name may be the same, but her character--wanting to help others, being a nice person instead of some sleezy mall rat--is totally changed. The Nancy Drew of THE SECRET OF THE OLD CLOCK would never dream of spending days prowling around a mall during a "Fashion Week" and having a crush on a security officer while still formally dating Ned Nickerson. The "Nancy" of this book is obsessed with clothes, looking trendy (and by the way, the sleezy trends this book mentions are outdated already). The mystery was carelessly made. Nancy is supposed to be SMART, but this "Nancy" jumps to conclusions, listens to gossip, annoys people with her tactless questions and falls into unrealistic peril in that fast-tracked trashy manner some modern comic books are written. Oh no--she's going to die. Thank goodness! She's saved. Oh no! She's going to die again! And it's lame because you know Nancy Drew will never be outwitted or killed. If you want a good mystery with real romance and character development (which NEVER happens in Nancy Drew; you can read them in any order and it still works) read Dorothy L. Sayers's wonderful Lord Peter Wimsey stories.

The Regular Nancy Drew Romance...With a More Intricate Plot
Nancy Drew. You will find romance in almost ALL the books, including this one. The plots are sometimes impractical- but NOT this one! This is actually one of my fave Nan stories, in which fashion and malls are included- my kind of book! All in all, it's a fairly good read. I'd reccomend it.

Nancy Drew the Slueth
Wicked Ways is a Nancy Drew book that many people would like. It is about a store that keeps getting robbed of their hottest new items. Bess Marvin (Nanncy Drew's friend), is in the show modiling the new hottest items on the market,(one of a kind designer jackets). If the store keeps getting robbed than Bess will not be able to be in the fasion show. Will Nancy Drew solve the mystery, or will she be out-witted by a pro-thief? Read the exiting, and exellent book and find out.

The Clue of the Velvet Mask

The Decline of Nancy Drew
Although the revised editions of the Nancy Drew books never lived up to the originals in my opinion, the writing was always decent...But then around volumes #27-#30, it really started to decline, and became what I call poor quality. It seemed as if the writer('s) really did'nt care what thier readers would think of thier work, just as long a they got thier pay check, they were happy. And the art is atroucious! The cover paintings arent too bad, but its the illustrations inside the books that really show the lazziness of the artist. I really liked the original illustrater's (which was Russel Tandy) approach. He would first actually read the whole book before going to work, unlike Nappi who would doodle a few pencil drawings that looked as if they came from a generic color book from Big Lots... I dispies this garbage...

One Of The Last Of The Good Nancy Drews
This review concerns the original 1953 edition and the revised 1969 edition. Nancy goes on the trail of the ruthless Velvet Gang, bold criminals that steal valuable jewels and art from the homes of wealthy people while the owners are throwing parties. The gang members use velvet masks to conceal their identities. This was a very good book that kept me interested from begining to end. The book is well-written (the original, at least) and is loaded with action. George is kidnapped, as are Nancy and Bess and Nancy is constantly coming face-to-face with the gang. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and I highly recommend it to all fans of Nancy Drew.

The amazing review of The Clue of the Velvet Mask
I enjoyed this book. I have always liked Nancy Drew books because they are easy to understand. While you are reading this book you can expect Nancy to solve the crime. You can also expect her to get in some sort of trouble. I conclude that if you are a Nancy Drew fan, you will like this particular book.

The Clue on the Crystal Dove

Nancy Drew Comes Through Again
"The Clue on the Crystal Dove" is a typical Nancy Drew book. Nancy, Bess, and George are off to visit Nancy's aunt Eloise in New York. While they're there they plan to also visit the grand opening of a collection of glass birds. You should know by now that Nan can't go anywhere without stumbling into a mystery. I found this book especially predictible in that I figured out who the culprit was the very first time we met him/her. Reading this book, however, is not a bad way to spend a summer afternoon.

New Cover-New Mystery
As everyone knows by now wherever Nancy Drew goes there is a mystery awaiting. And she always seems to jump on a clue or something to solve it. You could say she is 160 of 160 in cases. I have read about 150 Nancy Drew books from the Nancy Drew files, Nancy Drew, and Nancy Drew on Campus. I find they are still good books to read in my pastime because there is still some mystery to them and most books keep you guessing.

In this installment of the forever lasting Nancy Drew series we have Nancy, Bess, and George going to New York City to visit the magnificent bird collection of the Van Hoogstraten family. The birds were supposidly done by Julius Van Hoogstraten the starter of thier empire. But as Nancy and her friends go to visit Dell Van Hoogstraten who is a friend of Nancy's Aunt Eloise things get out of hand as a crystal chandelier falls out of nowhere scaring the hell out of the guests. Things follow as the most prized peace of the collection the Crystal Dove is stolen. As Nancy is trying to solve a mystery in the present she must dig deep into the past of Julius Van Hoogstraten to find the sinister serect. As we all know she came through again but this time guessing who did it wasn't that easy. Still a good read.

Great Book!!!!!!!!!!!!
From the minute I got hold of this book, I couldn't put it down!!!!!! The plot's good, too. Most Nancy Drew fans would love it!

This book was great. These series show a more mature Nancy and how she is dealing with college life and guys. But she still can't stay away from solving mysteries.

Whispers in the Fog

not the most exciting plot, but ned is back!
This is the first contemporary Nancy Drew I've read in a while. I was a bit disappointed by both the plot and language (dullish), compared with books fromthe past. However, I was thrilled to see that Nancy's long-time boyfriend, Ned Nickerson, who had been omitted from the books for years, is back. Of course, the relationship between them here is totally unromantic.

Cool Book
Nancy, Ned, George, and Bess are in northern California for kayaking with George's friend Katie, when Katie's boat is vandalized! Soon after that, lots of things start happening (as always) like a stalker, a bike "accident", trapped in a abandoned lighthouse, and a terrifying kayak trip. It has two really cool endings. (I don't want to give too much away.)

This was a great Nancy Drew book!
This was a great book! It has all the things needed in a mystery:action, suspence, and adventure. A great job you're doing, Ms. Keene, and keep up the great work!

Katie Firestone, champion kayaker and owner of a whale-watching tour boat, has invited George, along with Nancy, Ned, and Bess, to vacation in Seabreak, north of San Francisco. But when Katie's boat is vandalized, suspicion falls on fisherman Holt Scotto, who may be trying to run Katie out of business.

The menace doesn't stop there: a bike accident, a stalker, danger at an abandoned lighthouse, and a terrifying kayak trip leads Nancy to a hidden sea cave. Inside, Nancy discovers a dangerous secret. Soon her fearless instincts pluunge her deeper into trouble--and it will take all her courage, daring, and wits to get herself and her friends out of it alive! Will they make it? Read this book and find out!

The Witch Tree Symbol (Nancy Drew Mysteries)
Published in Paperback by HarperCollins Publishers (23 May, 1985)
Author: Carolyn Keene
Average review score:

Dreadfully Boring
This review concerns the original 1955 edition and the revised 1975 edition which is a shorter version of the original. A search for stolen antique furniture sends Nancy, Bess and George to the Amish country of Pennsylvania. This book was sooooo boring. The mystery was not interesting and typically the "exciting" chapter endings had little or nothing to do with the mystery. There was a secret connected with one of the pieces of furniture, but you learn so little about it until the end of the book that I just didn't care and when it was revealed it was dull anyway. The end of the book is terrible as the crooks are caught without any help from Nancy. Unless you want to read the entire set, I'd skip this one.

Witch Tree Symbol
This book was pretty good. It took a while for Me to really get into the story line though. But the things that happened! That made up for it! it was cool! For a good bit of the book everyboody thought nancy was a witch! Except Bess and George, of course! BUT, parts of the book were a tiny bit corney. If you don`t mind that then this would be a GREAT book for you!

The Witchtree Symbol
Of Nancy's many stories that take place away from her home town of River Heights, this one has got to be the BEST! She and her good friends Bess and George embark on a journey through the Amish farms of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Caroline Keene not only provides an exciting mystery, she also paints a fasinating portrait of life in the Pennsylvania Dutch county, complete with cultural foods and festivals. As a nine year old girl, I read the Nancy Drew series starting with the first book so that the events in Nancy's life would make chronological sense to me. Today, twenty-seven years later, I would advise any budding Nancy fan to start with "The Secret of the Old Clock" and then go directly to this thrilling mystery. They won't be disappointed!
